Around Poole Harbour

Sunday specialities…
Just to share my favourite route potato shaped ;-) around Poole Harbour.

It’s fairly hilly, not too far, not too short, just right for 3.5h ride (depend on ferry). Nice views, and a moment for leg stretch on the ferry from Studland to Sandbanks.
Between A35 and Wareham I’ve spotted rather nice pub with a science-fiction name. Somehow I’ve overlooked it previously ;-)

The good think is the only one piece of road without hard shoulder is A350 (approx 3.5km) you have to ride with cars on the same lane, so it’s fairly secure (fairly as British motto is “no fuel burning – no fun”). The rest of the roads are rural but you have to be careful between Corfe Castle and Studland usually there is plenty of cars. For more ambitious climbers I recommend rout through Kimmeridge/Tyneham and Swanage. For super ambitious climbers Worth Martavers on the coast is a must ;-) (see the profile bellow). This will add extra 25km to the whole route and might be nice day out with lunch/dinner in Swanage.
